I like him. but I don't know if he likes me. how would I know?

Smiling means nothing, try talking to him to know really what's up. If you keep trusting your instincts, you might get the wrong idea and you would think that he likes you too and in the long run, u would look like the loser dork. Don't be like that. Talk to him and set things straight :)
