Why does my computer screen have a red tint in the corner?

I have an IBM Thinkpad laptop. I looked at my computer screen, typed up some stuff on Word, left for about five minutes, came back, and there is this weird red tint ascending from the bottom right-hand corner. The rest of my screen is perfectly normal. I'm not sure what you call it, but the screen is the type of screen that ripples when you touch it hard enough. Would that have anything to do with it? It is very annoying to have this random portion of red fading into the corner of my computer screen.
