How can i clean my boat shoes?

i just got these new sperry boat shoes and its getting dirty pretty quick. i have tried to use a suede eraser to clean it but it seems to be leaving unwanted scratches. can anyone please tell me how to clean this kind of leather.? its supposed to be some sort of nubuck leather or something like that..
